Wei approached us to build him a set of wheels. In discussing the options with him, we realised that we had a lovely set of ex-demo wheels that would suit his needs perfectly.
The wheels feature DT Swiss Aerolite spokes in black (a similar spoke to the Sapim CX-Ray), coupled to Velocity A23 rims in anodised silver.
A23s work well for lighter riders – they are light themselves, low profile (so they don’t catch the wind) and are tubeless ready.
The black Velocity Pro hubs we used are specially made for them by a quality Taiwanese manufacturer. The front is especially light, and the rear features a very large drive side flange, to increase rear wheel stiffness. Something that these wheels have in spades, due to a 24h radial and 28h radial/2x lacing configuration.
The black hubs and spokes on a silver rim combo is not often seen, but looks great!
