Wow, the Syntace rims have really gained momentum over the past few months. A lot of riders still like the “feel” of alloy rims, but seek the benefits of a wider format for XC and trail riding. Up until recently, all wide alloy options were too heavy.

It can certainly be felt, especially on short travel duallies or hardtails. For some it’s more “connection with the trail”, but for others, it’s plain tiring!

Syntace wide rims are a great alternative. Not too expensive, well finished, and they are proving to be very reliable. The weights are with 10% of a similar carbon offering as well. And they ride with a little more vertical “give” – and mute out a bit of trail chatter.

Richard got in contact with a request to rebuild his red Chris King hubs, and lace them into a set of 26″ Syntace W35 hoops. He loves his current 26″ wheeled bike, and thought new wheels would defer a new investment in a bigger wheelsize.

Black DT Competition double butted spokes, and brass nipples ensure stellar reliability, and ensure these wheels will compliment Richard’s investment for many years to come.

Got an older rig, of even a pair of good hubs sitting around, and need an upgrade to your ride? Get in contact. XLR8 can help you freshen up your ride.
