Guy had been riding with another of our customers, and was envious of their Syntace W-series hoops. They are a smart choice in the wide rim market.
Whilst a lot of Chinese carbon is appearing on many rider’s bike, unless you know what you are getting, they are often very stiff (read uncomfortable) to ride, and prone to cracking when bottomed out on sharp edged rocks.
Guy wanted a reliable, comfortable, yet laterally stiff option, that was quality. He also needed a rim that was readily available as both 27.5″ and 26″, as he was converting an older 26″ chassis, with a more modern 27.5″ fork. Hence he selected the Syntace W35 rims for his ride, with a 26″ wheel for the rear, and a 27.5″ for the front.
Hope hubs are a smart choice in the mid level, and silver Sapim Race spokes used in order to save some precious $ for some new tyres.
