Matt needed some wheels to convert his old steelie into a fixie, in order to compliment his road training.
He got in contact after meeting us at Noosa Strade Bianchi (where we didn’t actually talk wheels much) and after discussing a few options, we realised we had half an option ready to go, and the remainder could be up and running in a few days.
For the front wheel, Matt chose to relieve us of a repair we had finished (but had never been paid for) quite some time ago – a 32h carbon 38mm clincher (from the best of the Chinese factories) that we have relaced to a new Shimano hub, with double butted black spokes and black brass nipples.
For the rear, an ever reliable, but no-frills Novatec track hub was selected for it’s light weight, and silky smoothness (and because it’s black). These axles are hollow, so we custom cut it to a length so that Matt can use it with a quality quick release. The match the incredible stiffness of the front wheel, plain gauge black Mach1 spokes were selected, with brass nipples for reliability, laced onto an Alex r450 rim.
Smash those hills Matt!
