Shannon had scored a great deal on a set of used Campagnolo Shamals, with a catch … the rear was totalled.
He sourced a replacement rim from Spain, and we replaced a couple of spokes to ensure ongoing reliability.
A rebuild of this very high tension wheel is trickier than a conventional wheel, requiring tensioning the driveside to a specific point, and then finishing the build by “pulling across” the rim by increasing non-driveside tension.
All in all, a successful rebuild, and a broken wheelset rolls on.
