Latest Custom Builds — Nextie

You might remember Andy had us build an awesome set of yellow and gold Nextie wheels with Project 321 hubs. Well, John is a member of his family, and once he saw Andy's wheels, he needed just the same, except this time in blue!  

Adam needed an economy replacement hub for his Carbonal wheelset, following some bad luck with his old Tune hub. He was on a budget, and needed a hub that was inexpensive, light and reliable. The XLR8 MD series of road hubs is just that. They are made in Taiwan. We specify the hubs composition. So whilst they may look familiar to some, we determine the bearings, axle type (hint - a stronger alloy) and freehub construction to ensure the best value/quality compromise. We also assemble them in house. We used Sapim CX-Rays on this wheel, laced 2x on both sides....

Andy's Yeti SB5.5 needed a new wheelset. The spec wheelset was proving to be a little underwhelming, and Andy wanted more width, and lower weight. Better hub reliability and longevity would be a bonus if possible. We discussed all aspects of the built with him - including his weight, riding style, trails ridden and potential tyre choices. Dan gets around Melbourne on his Specialized Crux CX bike and needed some new wheels to replace the heavy original wheelset.
