Andy's Stunning Project321 on Nextie Premium Enduro Wheels
29er All Mountain Carbon Enduro Nextie Project321 Sapim Wheel Builds
Andy's Yeti SB5.5 needed a new wheelset. The spec wheelset was proving to be a little underwhelming, and Andy wanted more width, and lower weight. Better hub reliability and longevity would be a bonus if possible. We discussed all aspects of the built with him - including his weight, riding style, trails ridden and potential tyre choices. Just part of the extensive process we can go through to ensure our customers get the best wheels for their needs and aspirations. Following this, we had a few calls to discuss the options regarding hubs and rims. Both White Industries XMR Boost...
Dan's Superlight Nextie Carbon CX/Gravel wheels - White Industries XMR hubs
29er Carbon Cyclocross Enduro Gravel Nextie Sapim Tubeless Wheel Builds White Industries
Dan gets around Melbourne on his Specialized Crux CX bike and needed some new wheels to replace the heavy original wheelset. Being a bigger guy, we discussed the pros and cons of alloy, deep road carbon, and narrower width 29er hoops, and after some consideration the Nextie Premium Asymmetric 27mm carbon 29er rim was selected. It would be a perfect match for the 38c CX tyres that he likes to run. He appreciates quality and it took no time for him to realize that the White Industries XMR hubset is a killer deal. They are light, super tough, and the finish is...
Bob's Nextie Road Carbon build on XLR8 hubs
Aero Carbon Classic Nextie Sapim TT and Triathlon Tubeless Wheel Builds XLR8 Hubs
Bob needed a new set of wheels for Ultra Endurance riding. They needed to be light, strong and not too expensive. These days, the hubs are the most expensive part of most builds, so the XLR8 MD hubs fit the bill nicely. They are made in Taiwan by one of the world's largest hub manufacturers, feature ABEC 5 grade Enduro bearings, an alloy freehub, and readily available parts (not that they are often required). For rims, the Nextie classic series offer great value. The 45mm version is very aero, yet still rather light. Tubeless ready, toroidal aero shape, quality high Tg...
Geoff's DT Swiss 240s Carbon wheel rebuild
27.5" Carbon DT Swiss Tubeless Wheel Builds Wheel Repairs
Geoff has been running a Rockshox RS-1 on his Trek, but was unhappy with the reliability. He worked with our friends at Cyclinic and decided to migrate over to Fox. Unfortunately the DT Swiss hub that was implanted in the OEM front wheel was not strictly compatible with the Boost standard. Rockshox had specified a unique hub for the RS-1. As a result, Geoff needed a rebuild to use his wheel in his new fork. Into a DT Swiss carbon hoop, it was only natural to use a DT Swiss 240s hub. We used DT Swiss Competition spokes in black to...
Johnny's Nexties on White Industries T11
Aero Carbon Classic Nextie Sapim White Industries Zipp
John needed some aero wheels in order to keep up with the youngsters he's been riding with. He felt his Dura Ace C24s were just not aero enough. We discussed the many options, and his thinking was that these new wheels might end up as race wheels if they provided enough speed (spoiler: they do!) so he wanted them stiff with a capital "S". The Nextie Classic carbon road rims are the chassis on which to build his hopes; the 45mm and 58mm rims (NXT45RC and 58RC) made sense - great warranty and finish, at a very reasonable price. Super aero...
