Matt is an old friend from way back. He's an avid singlespeeder and very very handy down hill. He was keen to build some new XC wheels for his old singlespeed and came to us for this, his fourth set of XLR8 wheels. Matt likes the Light Bicycle product and selected their 27mm wide 29er rim, that comes in at a scant 360g! On his supplied Hope hubs we used plain gauge Sapim Leader spokes on the rear wheel (to ensure optimum stiffness - he rides hard) and double butted Sapim Race spokes on the front - both in no frills...

You might remember Andy had us build an awesome set of yellow and gold Nextie wheels with Project 321 hubs. Well, John is a member of his family, and once he saw Andy's wheels, he needed just the same, except this time in blue!  

Andy's Yeti SB5.5 needed a new wheelset. The spec wheelset was proving to be a little underwhelming, and Andy wanted more width, and lower weight. Better hub reliability and longevity would be a bonus if possible. We discussed all aspects of the built with him - including his weight, riding style, trails ridden and potential tyre choices. Just part of the extensive process we can go through to ensure our customers get the best wheels for their needs and aspirations. Dan rides a very unusual Enduro rig. The Kiwi made Zerode Taniwha uses the Pinion P1:12 frame mounted gearbox, and thus only a single front chainring, and one rear cog. This gearbox provides 12 gears, evenly spaced apart to give a total gearing range of 600 percent. Setup appropriately, this can offer gearing as high as a SRAM 11s 32x10t set-up, but with a super low ratio that’s even lower than a 46t cog! This special bike requires special wheels. We built some wheels for Calvin some time ago. He claims they are the only wheels he's owned that have never required any attention. We're happy with that!
