Anna's Pink Project321 on Nextie Carbon rebuild.

Anna is a hardcore XC and Enduro rider that we support. She's attending the World Champs in Cairns so needed some wheel help beforehand.

She's been riding these Project321 hubs for four years, and the latest wheelset used some Nextie Carbon XC rims. It was built by another builder, who used alloy nipples. Not the best idea.

Alloy does not get along well with carbon, and will (in most cases, especially MTB) corrode over time. The result is corroded and broken nipples, and a wheelset that cannot be relied upon. Not what you want at the World Champs. Sometimes you only get one shot!

XLR8 rebuilt these hubs onto the "well loved" Nextie Carbon 29er MTB rims (they are certainly battered and scratched, but structurally perfect) using Sapim Race double butted spokes, and black brass polyax nipples. A standard 3x lacing pattern was used for reliability on a set of wheels that will be hammered.

These wheels are a testament to the quality of both Project321 and Nextie - products that you can rely on.
