Rob is a rider from Canberra, who has had some issues with factory built wheels in the past. He sought our advice on a quality build that would offer years of service, where functionality was the priority. We suggested the Hplusson Archetype rim as the natural choice. The Archetype is reasonably light weight, with exceptional stiffness and strength characteristics – surpassing pretty much every alloy rim on the market.
This 23mm wide profile rim (used with a 23c or 25c tyre) provides more confident and faster cornering. It also enables reduced tyre pressures for more comfort at no extra rolling resistance. Oh, and they look great in the satin black finish that Rob selected! White Industries T11 hubs are futureproof (11 speed compatible), bombproof (finest quality machining and bearings, titanium freehub) and have a great hub flange geometry (for a stiff and strong wheelbuild). They also spin beautifully, and have a well earned reputation of lasting forever!
The build featured Sapim Race double butted spokes front and rear, and alloy nipples on the front, to save a little extra weight. Brass nipples on the rear enhance reliability.
