After 20 years offering the most reliable bike bling on the planet, White Industries is celebrating with these new 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Speed Racer hubs.
Based on the original White Industries MTB hubs released, well 20 years ago, they’re updated for 11s, but still designed for rim brakes.
Hub flanges are moved a couple of millimetres to accommodate a wider 11s freehub body (Shimano or Campag). The non-drive side bearing is also moved further outwards to improve stiffness.
Otherwise they are the same as the classic originals (of which XLR8 has a pair from ’95 that is about to see service on its fifth wheelset!). Retail is AUD569 for a pair and includes a cool retro White Industries t-shirt.
Released at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show last month, the first batch of 100 pairs sold out almost instantly.
A second and final batch of 200 pairs is about to get machined. You get to choose drillings, and there is about a month wait for delivery.
XLR8 has reserved a few pairs from the second batch. Get in now, before they are gone (for another 20 years anyway).
