DT Swiss traces a lineage back to drawing wire at a facility in Biel, Switzerland in the mid 1600s. in the early 1900s the first bicycle components were produced. By 1934 products ranged from spokes and rims to dust shields for bicycles and pushchairs.
In 1994 DT Swiss AG was founded by a management buyout by the current owners. Howver, prior to DT Swiss AG, the name DT had became synonymous for high quality Swiss spokes and still stands for durability and precision.
Over the last 20 years, DT Swiss expanded its product range significantly. The launch of the original “Hugi 240” front MTB hub caused quite a stiff in the lates 90s – light, strong, and extremely smart design. If you rode an MTB, they were the smartest choice by a long margin.
Today DT Swiss has established itself as a leading manufacturer of spokes, nipples, hubs, rims, complete wheels and suspension systems. Production takes place in Switzerland, and their own factories in Poland, Taiwan and USA. All facilities are equipped with the same machines as in Switzerland, guaranteeing equal production standards and Swiss quality.
